Tuesday 28 August
The sun shone on us this morning which was a first!
We showed the River what we were made of under the watchful eye of Yvette and our Cox, Kay and as a result of our feathering and squaring gave it some welly.
When we got back on dry land the team spirit was alive, we were all so fired up and focused as a team, obviously Murray's pep talk and our bonding session last Thursday paid off.
Tuesday 21st August
After last weeks downpour on arriving at Reading Rowing Club to rain again at 5.30am we were all prepared and once again the spirits of 'Independent Women' were not dampened as we focused on the task in hand.
Murray Eldridge our coach once again patiently took us through our paces with both Yvette and Kay ensuring we had control of the boat as we learnt a new command 'give it some welly.'
Tuesday 14th August.
Last week Independent Women crew arrived at Reading Rowing Club at 5:30am despite the pouring rain for 2 hours training on the water!
This was Day 2 on the water, and what a horrendous morning it was, however in true "Independent Women" style the weather did not dampen our spirits and we made excellent progress under the watchful eye of our Coach Murray Eldridge.
Rumour has it, that we are the only team training early in the morning for the Corporate Eights:
Competition, you do not know what you are missing!!!!
